The Summerville City Council met in their regular monthly meeting yesterday evening at Summerville City Hall. The Council approved Frances Shropshire to the Library Board and also increased the hourly rate for the Trion Building Inspector who serves as inspector for the City of Summerville as well. The rate went from $40 per hour to $60 per hour.
The Council then approved a water contract with Chattooga County Water District #1 that will provide an interconnection between the water lines of the County Water District and the City of Summerville’s water lines, this will allow the City of Summerville to provide Chattooga County Water District #1 with water in an emergency.
In other action the Recreation Department announced the date for the annual Sum-Nelly Fall Craft Festival at Dick Dowdy Park in Summerville, the festival will be held October 4th.
