The Summerville City Council held its regular meeting Monday. Mayor Joe Norton recognized local teenager Joseph McWhorter for building trash receptacles in Dowdy Park. The project was an effort by McWhorter to obtain his Eagle Scout Status. In other business, the Council decided that Halloween this year would be observed by the City on October 30th due to a home football game being held on the 31st. The Summerville Recreation Department will hold its annual haunted house on Wednesday October 29 and Thursday October 30.
