The Summerville City Council held their monthly meeting for August on Monday evening and named former Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters as the finalist for the city manager position.  Winters was one of three finalists for the position.  Current City Manager Andrea Surratt had served as city manager for eighteen months when she announced her resignation in May of this year.  In other action, the Summerville City Council turned down a proposal that would have allowed Mayor Harry Harvey to begin the process of implementing a city property tax.  WZQZ will have more details on Monday night’s meeting in upcoming newscasts.
