In the regular city council meeting next week, the City of Summerville council members will be asked to consider a proposal for new playground equipment at Fairway Recreation Center located at 81 Senior Drive in Summerville.

According to Summerville City Manager Russell Thompson, the city will be looking at a bid of $19,530.70 to put playground equipment at the site.  The city is still seeking more quotes on the playground equipment, but Thompson says that no quote will be considered above the $19,530.70 mark.  The money for the playground equipment will be coming from SPLOST funds.

Fairway currently offers pool tables and ping-pong tables inside the recreation center, along with inside and outside basketball courts and a baseball field.
