The Summerville City Council will meet in a called meeting coming up this evening at 5:30 PM at Summerville City Hall.  The purpose of the meeting is to approve the travel expenses of the finalists for the Summerville City Manager position.

Current City Manager Andrea Surratt is leaving at the end of the month.  When Surratt was hired, the city council circumvented their own established timeline and hired Surratt before the application process was even completed.  She served less than two years before announcing she was leaving for “personal reasons”.

The meeting this evening is open to the public, but the council is expected to go into executive session, presumably to narrow down the list of applicants for the city manager’s position to potentially five finalists.
