Yesterday evening, the Summerville Gas Department held a meeting in the Armuchee area to gauge interest in expansion of gas lines serving northern Floyd County.

Summerville Gas has been serving the area for many years, and has hired a marketing representative to help determine the possibility of expanding in Floyd County.  Matt Wilbanks, representing Summerville Gas, says that several people in the northern part of Floyd County that are not currently served by the City of Summerville Gas Dept. have expressed interest in seeing the service expanded.

Wilbanks says that the viability of expansion will depend on how much interest there is from Floyd County residents.

Currently, the City of Summerville has over 1 million feet of gas lines in Chattooga and Floyd Counties and serves around 4,500 residents.
