The City of Summerville, Georgia, has formally initiated the process to secure its next long-term vendor for residential solid waste and recyclables collection services. The City has issued a comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFP), inviting qualified waste management firms to submit sealed bids for the key municipal contract.

The official deadline for the submission of proposals is Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. ET.

The successful bidder will be responsible for providing residential curbside collection services throughout Summerville, ensuring the reliable and sanitary removal of municipal solid waste and co-mingled recyclables for all city residents.

Sealed proposals must be physically received at the Office of the City Manager, located at 120 Georgia Ave, Summerville, GA 30747, before the stated deadline. Submissions received late or incomplete will not be considered.

City Manager Jason Winters emphasized the importance of detail and adherence to the RFP instructions.

“This contract is vital to maintaining the cleanliness and quality of life for our residents,” stated Winters. “We encourage all interested and qualified firms to review the proposal documents thoroughly and submit their bids well in advance of the deadline.”
