When the Summerville City Council meets for their regular monthly session they will be looking to approve a new public works building for the city.
The current building is in need of such extensive repairs, the city council and mayor believe it will be better to construct a new facility. The flooding on Labor Day weekend of last year added to the problems at the current location close to City Hall. The new public works building will be located on Vitality Lane near the Summerville Industrial Park and Mohawk.
The council is expected to approve a bid of $68,845 to Bandini Construction of Centre, Alabama to construct the metal building. The council is also looking to approve a measure that would allow the interim city manager to coordinate site development at the public works location.
The city council will be meeting at 5 PM at Summerville City Hall on Monday, March 13 and the public is invited to attend.
