The City of Summerville is seeking to increase production at a well the city owns at Gamble Spring located off Highway 48 in Summerville near Raccoon Creek.  The well is currently an 8″ well and the city is looking for a contractor to convert the well to a 12″ well.  That conversion would provide a well capable of pumping 1,500 gallons of water per minute.  The city will be opening bids from contractors on November 14th at 5 PM at Summerville City Hall.  The city continues to develop wells to supply its water treatment plant after the EPA said that the water supply from Raccoon Creek had concentrations of man-made chemicals called PFAS, that were not acceptable.
