A Chattooga County man originally charged with causing a crash in Walker County that killed a Berry College student was found not guilty of second-degree vehicular homicide on Tuesday of this week. Twenty-year-old Eden Muina was killed in the crash that happened in 2021.

Larry Brian Cargle of Summerville was originally charged with second-degree vehicle homicide and failure to yield right away.  On Tuesday of this week, a Walker County Jury did find Cargle guilty of failure to yield right-of-way at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Highway 27 and Shattuck Industrial Boulevard. 

Cargle stressed in his testimony during the trial that he never saw a car and he never saw a headlight before he made the left turn.

Cargle will serve 12 months probation and must take a driving course due to the driving conviction.
