A thirty-two-year-old McGinnis Circle, Summerville man was arrested last week after he got into an altercation with his mother about his excessive beer drinking.

The man’s mother called police after he became irate and shoved her and then left the house walking to the Pure Stop on Highway 114 to get more beer.  When officers made contact with the man, he at first tried to walk away.  After officers got the man to stop on Bellah Avenue, the suspect told police he had “one beer” that day.  Officers say that the man was obviously inebriated and later admitted that he had shoved his mother.

The man then gave police his mother’s social security number as they were checking his identity.

Benjamin Thomas Wilson was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and false representation to a police officer.  Police also found that Wilson had a warrant from the Ringgold Police Department as well.
