
A nineteen-year-old Chattooga County man was arrested this week on burglary charges in connection with two burglaries in the Lawrence Community in Cherokee County, Alabama.
Cherokee County Alabama Sheriff’s investigators charged Joshua L. Holtzclaw, age 19 of Summerville, Georgia after he allegedly placed some of the stolen items on Facebook Marketplace in an attempt to sell them. Little did Holtzclaw realize that the people meeting up with him to purchase the stolen goods were investigators from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect was taken into custody in Chattooga County and the stolen property was recovered for the owner. Holtzclaw was booked into the Chattooga County Jail and will be extradited to Cherokee County on two counts of third degree burglary, second degree theft of property, and third degree theft of property.
