A Chattooga County man was arrested this week in neighboring Cherokee County, Alabama, according to arrest records from the Cherokee County Detention Center.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested thirty-nine-year-old Summerville resident Marty Womack on Thursday. Womack was booked into the Cherokee County Jail at 10:20 AM on charges of domestic violence in the third degree.
Alabama law says, “Domestic violence in the third degree is a Class A misdemeanor, except the defendant shall serve a minimum term of imprisonment of 48 hours in a city or county jail or detention facility without consideration of reduction in time for any second or subsequent conviction under this subsection.”
Womack was being held on a $2,500 bond as of Friday.
