A thirty-three-year-old Fish Hatchery Road, Summerville man was arrested on December 9th and officers found a “large amount” of methamphetamine on his person.

According to a report released this week by the Summerville Police Department, an officer responded to a call about someone breaking into mobile homes.  An officer spotted Cody Landon Boyd walking on Scoggins Street and stopped to question him.  While questioning the suspect, officers say that Boyd appeared to be under the influence of some sort of stimulant.  After questioning Boyd, officers found a scale on the suspect.  Boyd told officers it was his grandmother’s and that she used the scale to weigh jewelry, but that didn’t explain the white powdery substance on the scale.  Officers subsequently found 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine that Boyd had hidden in his crotch area.

Boyd was arrested and charged with obstruction of law enforcement, possessing a knife or firearm during the commission of a crime, and drug charges related to possessing and distributing methamphetamine.
