A Summerville man has been charged with being a peeping Tom.
According to Chattooga County Sheriff's Department Investigator James Durham, William Max Thomas was arrested on Tuesday. He is accused of peeping into the windows of a neighbor in the area of Orchard Hill Road.
Thomas was specifically arrested for an incident that occurred on March 22 when a neighbor of the woman told her, she saw him looking into the windows of her home. Thomas reportedly had no alibi that he could confirm for the time he was said to have been looking into the woman's windows.
It may not have been a one-time incident. Durham said the man had been on the property multiple times in the past and had been told to leave. Thomas also was charged with criminal trespass. The peeping Tom charge is a felony, according to Durham.
