A Summerville man was cited for stealing utilities this week after city workers notified the Summerville Police Department that someone had been tampering with meters.

The incident was reported on C Street this week after the worker with the city noticed that locks on a water meter and gas meter had been tampered with.  When police spoke with the resident nearby, he told them that he “picked the locks because he couldn’t get the utilities turned on legally”.

Police cited Jaimie Grinsley for the theft of utilities, according to a report from the police department.
