According to the Georgia State Patrol Post in LaFayette, a Summerville man lost his life in a tragic accident on Highway 27 on Thursday afternoon.

State Troopers say that they responded to the call at 3:23 PM on Thursday afternoon after a red Chevrolet Blazer was struck from hind by a silver GMC Yukon.  The teenage driver of the Blazer was apparently attempting to make a turn into a private drive off Highway 27 near the intersection of Midway Road when the Yukon struck him in the rear.

Both of the vehicles left the roadway and overturned before coming to a rest off the roadway.  The teenage driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Thirty-two-year-old Jahari McCutchins of Summerville, suffered fatal injuries.

The Georgia State Patrol says that their findings are preliminary and the investigation is ongoing into the accident.
