A 61-year-old Summerville man is facing a series of drug-related charges after authorities say they found illegal substances on him both during his arrest and after he arrived at jail.

According to police reports, Gregory Williamson was stopped and arrested near the intersection of GA 156 and GA 1, where officers say they discovered methamphetamine in his possession. Williamson was then transported to the Floyd County Jail for booking.

During the intake process, deputies reported finding an additional stash of drugs — this time marijuana — hidden inside his socks. Jail officials say the discovery was made during a standard search conducted on all incoming inmates.

Williamson is now charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drugs by an inmate. Officials have not released additional details, and the incident remains under investigation.
