A twenty-one-year-old Chattooga County man was involved in an accident that resulted in a fatality and multiple injuries in Taney County, Missouri.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the three-vehicle accident happened on July 3rd and involved a 2015 Ford F550 truck driven by Austin Battles of Summerville and a 2004 GMC Envoy and a 2008 Ford E350 van. Battles reportedly lost control of the Ford F550 and crossed the center line, crashing into the GMC Envoy which then hit the Ford E350 van.
The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene and was identified as Jared Thrapp of Forsyth, Missouri. Thrapp’s wife received serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Springfield, Missouri. The driver and two occupants of the GMC Envoy sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in Branson, Missouri.
Battles Ford F550 was extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene. There were no charges immediately filed in connection with the accident.
