Summerville Police arrested a man that they say stole mail from a Summerville business at the end of last month.

According to a report released late last week, police say that they were conducting a drug investigation at the Coach Inn on Highway 114 when they came across a suspect who had been on video surveillance taking mail from the mailbox of a nearby business.  The owner of the business had provided police with the footage and one of the officers assisting in the investigation at the motel noticed the “distinctive pants” that the suspect had on – the same ones that he was wearing when he allegedly stole mail from the businesses mailbox.

The report did not indicate what was so distinctive about the man’s clothing, but twenty-three-year-old Stephen Robert Cox was arrested on charges of theft by taking.
