Last week the Chattooga County Sheriffs Office reported a series of thefts from the local Wal-Mart, and it seems that this week it is the Summerville Police Departments turn to investigate a run of burglaries and thefts.
Late last week, Summerville Police Officers met with complainant Cedric Price who stated that his campers, located at 440 4th Street, had been broken into. When Price arrived he discovered that a window had been removed from a smaller camper, a door opened on an RV on site, and a window opened on a third, larger camper on the property. Price had went in each camper and made a list of missing items.
A few days before Price made his complaint, Officers met with Lillie Perry at her residence at Summerville Gardens Drive. Mrs. Perry stated that someone had entered her house the night prior and had taken around $1500 from her purse. The purse had been hidden in her living room with the exterior door locked. Perry was unsure who may have entered the home but stated that they must have had a key and that this was the second time someone had broken in in the last two months.
Both cases are still active.
