On Friday of last week, Summerville Police were called by the Summerville Housing Authority about a case of utility theft. When police arrived, they found a drop-cord going from a housing unit to an apartment nearby. Police removed the drop-cord and found that the apartment appeared to be stealing water as well. When the Summerville Water Department arrived, they confirmed that water and sewer services were being stolen as well. The apartment had not paid for those services since November of 2020. The water department said over $1600 worth of water had been stolen in that amount of time. The incident report from the Summerville Police Department did not indicate any suspects in the case.
