The Summerville Police Department is investigating two thefts that were reported in recent days.

A responding officer met with a Union Street resident who reported the theft of a bicycle on Thursday of last week.  The complainant said that the bike was propped up close to a BBQ grill the day before and he noticed the bike was gone on Thursday morning.  The bike is a white and black, eighteen-speed.

Another unrelated theft was also reported on Thursday when a complainant told a responding officer about a Ryobi string trimmer that was stolen.  The complainant said she believed she knew who took the trimmer and spoke with the suspect’s girlfriend.  The complainant said that the girlfriend denied knowing about the stolen string trimmer, but that she was “acting weird” when the complainant was talking with her about it.

Both unrelated thefts remain under investigation.
