Summerville Police are investigating a report of vandalism on Hinton Street after a resident’s vehicle was discovered with damage suspected to be from a BB or pellet gun. The incident was reported Wednesday evening by the vehicle’s owner.
According to police records, officers were dispatched to 259 Hinton Street at approximately 6:45 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Upon arrival, they met with victim Darrick Parrish, who stated that sometime in the last couple of weeks, the right front fender of his vehicle had been damaged.
Mr. Parrish showed the responding officer two distinct dents on the fender, which he believes were caused by a BB or pellet gun. He informed authorities that he did not witness the act itself and, therefore, could not identify the person responsible.
However, Parrish conveyed his suspicion that a juvenile residing in the area might be involved. He reportedly told officers he has previously observed this individual on his property.
Mr. Parrish requested that a formal police report be made regarding the incident, and an investigation is now underway. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding any active investigation or potential suspects. Residents are reminded to report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement.
