A sixty-three-year-old Summerville woman was injured in an accident this past Saturday on Highway 114 – the Lyerly Highway.
According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, thirty-eight-year-old Matthew Prestwood was driving a 1996 Dodge Dakota when he attempted to pull out of Oil Mill Road and struck a 2008 Ford Explorer driven by fifty-seven-year-old Wanda England of Summerville.
Police say that Prestwood’s failure to yield caused the accident. The Explorer came to rest at the Pure Stop gas station after being struck. A passenger in the Ford Explorer, sixty-three-year-old Tammy Ford of Summerville was taken by ambulance for unspecified injuries.
Prestwood was cited for failure to yield and driving without a valid license. The owner of the Dodge Dakota, thirty-five-year-old Nikita Forrester of Summerville was also cited for allowing an unlicensed person to drive the vehicle.
The accident was reported at 5:14 PM this past Saturday.
