Summerville Police responded to a dog complaint on Martin Street this past Saturday. According to a police report, when they arrived on the scene they found the victim, identified as forty-seven-year-old Holly Marshall, who had been attacked and had several bite marks. Police said that she had multiple wounds and was transported to a Rome hospital due to her injuries. Animal control took one pit bull from the scene at the request of Marshall. Police said that there were several more pit bulls inside the residence at the time of the incident. A man, identified as Buddy Rooker in the police report, who lives with Marshall also had a bite from a pit bull on the back of his neck but refused medical treatment. Rooker said that he was bitten while trying to get the aggressive animal off Marshall. Police said that they would be returning to the residence to discuss the living conditions of the aggressive animals living inside the residence.
