Summerville Police worked an accident at Bellah Avenue and Rome Boulevard (Highway 27) on Friday evening about 6:45 PM between a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
When police arrived on the scene, they saw a motorcycle and its driver on the pavement and a Dodge pickup truck with damage to the passenger side.
The driver of the pickup truck told the responding officer that he was distracted by a child in the back seat of his truck and when he spotted the motorcycle “it was too late.”
The driver of the pickup was attempting to make a left turn on Bellah Avenue at the time of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as thirty-year-old Stefan Bryant of Summerville.
The driver of the motorcycle, identified as fifty-seven-year-old Gregory Chandler of a Tatum Road, Trion address was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center with serious injuries.
