Everyone knows that the Holiday season can be hectic, but probably few realize just how hectic it can be on United States Postal workers.  Summerville’s Postmaster is asking for the public’s patience as postal workers work seven-days-a-week from now until Christmas to get all those packages delivered.

In a statement from Summerville Postmaster Susan Jones,  postal customers are reminded that not only are postal workers delivering Priority Mail and Express Mail, along with the regular mail everyday, they also deliver for FedEx, UPS, DHL and Amazon.  Jones says that the post offices in Chattooga County are getting trucks around the clock right now and you might see a postal vehicle go by your house two or three times a day between now and Christmas.

Jones says, “Some of our employees will be working 7 days a week until Christmas so we ask for your patience and understanding while coming into the post office as well as while we try to deliver all these packages. You the customer can help us out by having your numbers on your mailboxes or houses because we have carriers delivering that are not your regular carrier.”
