The suit alleges that sludge and bio-solids from the Town of Trion’s waste water treatment plant was contaminated with PFA’s that, as a result of sludge spreading, found its way into Raccoon Creek.  Raccoon Creek is the primary source for water for the City of Summerville.  That contamination led to a water crisis for the City of Summerville that resulted in residents not being able to drink the municipal water for many months until expensive carbon filters were installed at the Summerville Water Treatment Plant.
