Summerville Police responded to a call about dogs attacking another dog on Thursday of last week.  A woman was cited after it was discovered that her dogs were not vaccinated and were in a neighbor’s yard when the attack took place.

When police arrived on the scene on Highway 48 in Summerville and spoke with the complainant, he said that his dog had gone outside and was attacked by his neighbor’s two dogs.  When police spoke with the neighbor, she said that the dog had come into her yard and was chased back into the other yard.  The neighbor said her dogs would “never hurt” any other dog, but police could see where the smaller dog had been attacked.

When asked about the vaccination status of her dogs, the neighbor said neither of her dogs were vaccinated.  Michelle Smith received a citation for failure to have her dogs vaccinated.  Both were reminded about the leash law.
