Summerville Police responded to the report of a theft last week in which a woman says that a man stole $2,000 in cash from her residence.

The complainant said that a Trion man had been had her residence and after he left, she noticed that the money was missing.  The complainant told police that she invited the man to come to her Summerville Gardens apartment because “he didn’t have anything to drink.”  After a night of drinking tequila, the man spent the night at the woman’s apartment.  The complainant told police that the man “kept getting up and leaving the bedroom”, and after he left the next morning she noticed that the money was missing from a picture frame where she was keeping it.

The complainant said that the suspect also drank the rest of the tequila before leaving the apartment.

The incident is under investigation.
