Quick investigative work, aided by crucial security camera footage, has led to the arrest of a Summerville man in connection with a recent burglary at A & C Storage. Luke Cody Campbell, 32, was taken into custody on Tuesday, August 12, following the theft of a Blackstone Grill and other items from a storage unit.

The incident came to light on Monday, August 11, when victim Lori Richardson reported a burglary at her Unit #309 at A & C Storage, located at 566 HWY. 114. Richardson told Detective Cox that she found her unit’s door slightly ajar at the bottom, despite the lock still being in place. Upon full inspection, she discovered the unit had been rummaged through and a Blackstone Grill, valued at approximately $400, was missing. Richardson stated she had last visited the unit three weeks prior.

Investigators promptly contacted Anthony Bryant, the owner of A & C Storage, who provided access to the facility’s security camera footage. The review of the footage proved pivotal to the case.

On August 10, 2025, at approximately 2:08 PM, cameras captured the door to Unit #309 fully down. Just two minutes later, at 2:10 PM, a white male, later identified as Luke Cody Campbell, was seen physically manipulating the door until he gained access. Campbell then crawled into the unit and closed the door behind him.

After approximately five minutes, Campbell exited Unit #309, carrying the stolen Blackstone Grill, a grill cover, and a white box fan. Footage from Camera #8 captured his departure. Campbell then proceeded to Unit #259, where he placed the stolen items.

At approximately 2:17 PM, a black 2008 Buick Lucerne (GA Tag #SLG 6702) pulled up to Unit #259. A white male, identified as Jason Morgan, exited the vehicle and spoke with Campbell. Campbell then removed an item from Unit #259 and placed it into the trunk of the Buick before entering the rear driver-side seat. Morgan entered the front passenger seat, and the vehicle drove away.

On August 12, Detective Cox and Captain Railey located the black Buick at 11543 HWY. 27 in Summerville, GA. They spoke with the vehicle’s owner, Deborah Morgan, who confirmed she owned the car. Deborah Morgan stated that her son Jason’s friend, Luke Campbell, had contacted Jason to give him an air conditioner. She claimed she and Jason had traveled to the storage units on August 10, where Luke placed the air conditioner in her trunk. She further stated that Campbell requested a ride due to a broken bicycle wheel and was dropped off at her house, leaving on foot from there. Deborah Morgan cooperated by allowing officers to photograph the air conditioner installed in a bedroom window.

Further analysis of the storage unit’s security footage revealed Campbell had arrived at the property at approximately 1:57 PM on August 10, placing his bicycle into Unit #259. While waiting for his ride, Campbell was also observed moving items from Unit #258 into Unit #259.

Based on the evidence, Detective Cox contacted Sgt. Matthew Wilson on August 11 at 9:30 PM, instructing him to check Unit #259 for the stolen items. With permission from property owner Anthony Bryant, who verified Unit #259 was vacant, Sgt. Wilson entered the unit. Inside, he recovered the stolen Blackstone Grill, grill cover, white box fan, two televisions, a hammer, and a purple and black Magna bicycle with its rear wheel removed. All recovered items were secured at the Police Department.

On August 12, Detective Cox obtained a criminal arrest warrant for Luke Campbell from Magistrate Judge Tracy Maddux. Later that day, at approximately 4:15 PM, Detective Cox, Detective Strauss, and Deputy Jackie Womack served the warrant and took Luke Campbell into custody at 153 Northern Heights Circle.

At the Police Department, Campbell was read his Miranda rights and voluntarily agreed to speak with detectives. He was cooperative and admitted to the theft from both Unit #309 and Unit #258. Campbell also stated he had given a Mickey Mouse crock pot, stolen from Unit #258, to his mother and promised to have it returned to the Police Department. He further indicated he had given the air conditioner, also from Unit #258, to a friend and would facilitate its return as well.

Campbell faces charges of Burglary in the Second Degree. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities anticipate more stolen property will be recovered.
