The Labor Day Weekend Flood in Summerville did a good bit of damage to the Chattooga County Courthouse Annex.  Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton told WZQZ News that her office is operating at this time, but that there are still a lot of issues to overcome.

Hampton said that she has ran into some snags with the office computers, but things are improving.  She predicts that her office will be fully functional by this Friday.

The tax commissioner said, “I really appreciate all of the patience that citizens have shown to us during all of this. I also appreciate the many people, and even other Tax Commissioner’s who stepped up to help and loan us supplies to get by.”

Hampton said she was in Floyd County on Wednesday borrowing some supplies from the Floyd County Tax Commissioner’s Office.
