Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton is reminding property owners that if their 2020 property tax bills are not paid by next week, a lien will be placed against their property.

At the end of the week, 96% of taxes had been collected for 2020, but there are still 911 parcels that have taxes owing against them.

The tax bills were due in December and notices were sent out in February.
