Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says that her office has been plagued by computer system problems for the past several days, but hopes that things are going to get better this week.

Hampton told WZQZ News over the weekend that she checked the computer system out on Saturday, when her office was closed, and everything seemed to up and running well – with the exception of credit card processing.  Hampton said that last week, the system was running extremely slow, but that with her staff’s diligence – and the patience of the public – everyone was able to get there business done at the tax office.

Hampton says that if you plan on using a credit card to do your business at the tag office for the next couple of days, you can bring your smart phone in and her staff can assist you with making your payments.

Hampton added, “I’m really blown away by how patient our customers have been with us and how resourceful my team has been to find ways to help the customers that we’ve seen while systems were down.”
