The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department is reporting the arrest of a West Armuchee teenager on charges of aggravated child molestation. According to the docket records from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department, seventee year old Justin Shane Jenkins of a West Armuchee adress in Walker County was charged by Chattooga County authorities on Friday and booked into the Chattooga County Jail at 6:20 PM.
In Georgia felony offenders are considered an adult at age 17 for all criminal prosecutions. There are only six states where persons under 18 are treated as an adults and Georgia. is one of the six. Also in Georgia murder, rape, armed robbery, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery are offenses that a person can be charged with as an adult as young as the age 13.
