A Lyerly man reported to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday that he received a phone call from a man trying to scam him out of money.

 

According to the report, the Church Street man said the phone call was from a man named John. John told the man he needed to put $300 on a Green Dot card and to give him the card information. If that was done, John said the man would receive a two million dollar prize. John reportedly told the man if he did not "an armored car" would be on its way to his residence. Sheriff's deputies advised the man not to give his information to anyone he didn't know.
