The Teloga Volunteer Fire Department has received some much-needed equipment thanks to a grant from the Tillotson-Menlo Foundation.

According to the Teloga Fire Department, the grant received from the Tillotson-Menlo Foundation allowed the department purchase a device that compresses air to fill the SCBA bottles that are used by firefighters to breath while fighting a fire.

In the past, Teloga had to rely on other departments to fill their bottles after they were used.

The Teloga Fire Department stated, “Thanks to a grant from the Tillotson-Menlo Charitable Foundation, Station 11 now has a safe means to fill bottles. This has already allowed us to begin to “train like we fight” breathing air and in full gear. We can’t even begin to express our gratitude to the foundation for its impact to Teloga Fire, our community, and Chattooga County!”.
