The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported Friday Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam’s spokeswoman Yvette Martinez said the governor would be open to working on a mutually beneficial solution with Ga. Gov. Nathan Deal. The report said that the two states could `work out a trade of Volunteer State water for Peachtree State transportation improvements.` The move would give Tennessee better access to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Port of Savannah in exchange for more water from Tennessee.
