A Hixson Tennessee man was arrested by LaFayette Police after a fight involving himself, his wife and a local man the woman had been staying with, on Smallwood Street.

WQCH reports that LaFayette Police found the pair at Circle K on West Main, after the fight was over. The woman was bleeding about the face and was treated at the scene by EMTs. Both stated that the husband drove to LaFayette from Tennessee to take her back to their home.

The report states that officers noticed the husband’s pupils were constricted and he was unsteady on his feet. A search of his person turned up a straw that tested positive for drugs. Alcohol and marijuana were also found in the vehicle.

Fifty-six-year-old Robert Timothy Swanson was charged with DUI-drugs and open container.

A warrant will be sought for the man accused of striking both Swanson and his wife at the Smallwood Street residence.
