A twenty-five-year-old Tennessee man was charged with DUI in Chattooga County earlier this month.  According to a report released by the Georgia State Patrol on Monday of this week, a state trooper clocked Isaac Booth doing over the posted speed limit on Highway 48 near the Menlo ball fields shortly after 10:30 PM on November 11th. 

The trooper said that Booth was doing 70 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour speed zone.  When the trooper made a traffic stop, he could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver.  Booth said he was headed to Fort Payne, Alabama and admitted to having left a wedding venue in Armuchee where he had been drinking.

Booth was charged with DUI and was taken to the Chattooga County Jail.  A female passenger was also transported to the jail to await a ride.
