A Maryville, Tennessee woman and a Hunstville, Alabama man had an accident on South Commerce Street late last week.

According to a report released on Monday by the Summerville Police Department, fifty-eight-year-old Lisa Appugliese was driving a 2015 Subaru Outback when she was struck from behind by twenty-five-year-old Kimon Merrell who was driving a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Appugliese told a responding officer that she had stopped for other vehicles when Merrell’s Jeep struck the rear of her vehicle.  Merell told police that he didn’t have time to stop.

Appugliese was taken by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.
