Jurors heard testimony this morning in the Carlton Vines Election Fraud Case that linked the names of voters with absentee ballots that were turned into Vines’ office according to witnesses. Prosecutors cross referenced a ledger that was kept by Vines’ secretary with records that were obtained from the deputy registrar of Chattooga County. All of the witnesses that testified this morning said that there ballots were sealed before they left them at Vines’ office. One witness, Sidney Johnson who worked for the Vines campaign said that he had knowledge that other campaigns also had absentee ballots on hand. Vines is being charged with unlawful possession of ballots and conspiracy to commit election fraud. The trial continued into this afternoon.
