The economic impact from coronavirus has severely affected many small businesses. The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission has funds available that can help by providing low-cost financing of up to $50,000 to small businesses negatively affected by the pandemic.
According to the Commission, interest rates range from 1% – 5%
with terms up to seven years.
The funds can be used for working capital needs that have arisen after temporarily closing due to the coronavirus. Also, the funds can be used to retain, hire or re-hire employees. Businesses with outstanding business expenses and significantly aged payables can use the funds to pay down or pay off those debts. Funds can also be used to purchase needed furniture, fixtures or equipment to assist in re-opening.
To find out if your small business is eligible, contact Jennifer Whorton, Loan Programs Officer at the Regional Commission in Rome, (706) 295 6485.
