Dalton police are still searching for the thieves who broke into several offices on Thornton Avenue earlier this week, including one belonging to U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ranger.

Items reportedly stolen include laptop computers, an iPad, camera and projector. According to incident reports, the break-ins occurred between when people left from work Wednesday and before Thursday morning as they returned. Authorities believe whoever ransacked the offices of Graves, AFLAC, The Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia and Cycle Tex on the 700 block of Thornton Avenue used some kind of object to pry open the back doors to get inside. Someone also broke into Bancorp, officials said, but nothing was initially reported stolen.

The items taken from Graves’ office were two laptop computers. Reports state someone kicked in the door to the office to get inside. There reportedly no evidence the thieves were solely targeting the congressman.

U.S. Capitol Police, along with local authorities, are investigating the incident.
