Three residents at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation nursing home in Summerville have died from COVID-19, and nearly 100 residents have tested positive for the virus.
Of the 98 who were infected, 72 residents have recovered, according to Monday’s long-term-care facility report from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
The first confirmed case of COVID-19 at Oakview was reported on July 18, when an employee tested positive.
More than a month later, 34 residents tested positive on Aug. 25.
As of Monday afternoon, 46 employees had tested positive throughout the pandemic. Some of those employees have recovered and have returned to work.
The state reports that 158 tests have been administered in the facility that now has 106 residents.
