Three new school board members will take office in January in Chattooga County.  All three of the new school board members are women.

Tiffany Lawrence, Bonnie Fletcher and Lori Brady will all take office and it will be the first time the majority of Chattooga County Board of Education members have been women.

Lawrence was unopposed in the Republican Primary and the General Election and will be replacing Brad Hayes who chose not to seek reelection.  Bonnie Fletcher won the Republican Primary and will be replacing Spencer Hogg, who also chose not to run for a full term.  Lori Brady, who won the Republican Primary earlier this year, will be replacing Lynn Hall after winning just over 70% of the votes in the General Election.

Lawrence, Fletcher and Brady will be joining board members B.J. Montgomery and Eddie Elsberry in January.  Elsberry, who currently serves as chairman of the Board of Education, is the only Democrat on the school board and one of only two Democrats holding elected office in Chattooga County.
