The three Abrahamic faiths – Christianity, Judaism and Islam are all happening at the same time this year, which is a rare occurrence.
Western Christianity is celebrating Easter, while Judaism is celebrating Passover and Muslims are celebrating Ramadan.
The dates for determining Easter are based on a solar calendar, while the Jewish and Muslim holy days are based on a lunar calendar. That means the overlapping of holidays only happens about once every thirty years.
The Christian calendar dates Easter to Sunday since the year 325 CE, more specifically to the first Sunday after the spring full moon. In the Jewish calendar, on the other hand, Passover can begin on any day of the week.
