If you are not registered to vote and would like to cast a ballot in the Georgia Presidential Preference Primary, the registration deadline is tomorrow, Monday, February 12, 2024.

The Chattooga County Registrars Office says notices were mailed to 221 Chattooga County registered voters in November of last year, who completed a National Change of Address form with US Postal Service and whose address appears to be within Chattooga County.  They say if you received a notice, please read the information inside carefully and take appropriate action. As a result of this process, 211 voters have had their address changed.

Voters may log into the My Voter Page (mvp.sos.ga.gov) to verify the address on file reflects their current physical address. If the information is outdated, voters are encouraged to update their records prior to tomorrow, February 12, 2024 which is the last day to register or make changes to your voter registration record for the Presidential Preference Primary.

In order to register to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States, be a legal resident of the county, and be at least 17 and a half years of age to register and 18 years of age to vote. You cannot register if you are serving a sentence for a felony conviction or have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge. There are several ways to register, and you can get more information on the Georgia Secretary of State’s website.

The primary is March 12 with advance voting set to run from February 19 to March 8.
