The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced that maintenance crews will close the right northbound lane of I-75 on Wednesday, August 27, to perform necessary roadway repairs.

The closure, slated from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and contingent on weather conditions, will affect the stretch of I-75 northbound between mileposts 352 and 354.

Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 during these hours should anticipate significant delays and are strongly advised to exercise caution and reduce their speed when approaching and passing through the work zone.

To assist with commute planning, GDOT encourages drivers to obtain real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. This can be done by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or downloading the Georgia 511 mobile app.

GDOT emphasized that its maintenance team members, who are continuing their essential work repairing roads and bridges, are following sanitary work practices prescribed by health agencies. This is to protect both themselves and the public from the coronavirus, aligning with practices adopted by most state DOTs across the U.S.
